I live in Thorold, Ontario, with my husband and two daughters. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I had a successful career in IT. It wasn’t until I made the transition to staying home that I discovered my true passion: being with my family and sharing my love of food as a professional Canadian blogger.
Here, you’ll find simple, delicious recipes that I’ve created for home cooks like you.
My love for cooking and baking started in my childhood. I grew up baking bread with my grandmother, watching my dad perfect his chili recipe, and helping my mom experiment with new dishes. Although I was raised on a traditional English diet—think Sunday roasts and hearty meat-and-potatoes meals—my mom often introduced us to new flavors, from saffron soup to sweet-and-sour spareribs.
Over the past decade, I’ve broadened my culinary horizons even more. My husband is Jamaican, and learning to cook authentic Jamaican dishes with him has been an amazing journey of flavors and techniques.
I’m completely self-taught, with everything I know passed down from my mom and grandmother—plus a little creativity from grade 7 home economics (hotdogs in crescent rolls, anyone?).
I test most of my recipes at least once, but many are tried-and-true family favorites that we’ve been making for years. I’m not a chef or a culinary expert—just someone who loves food and finds joy in creating meals that bring people together.
