About the Ingredients for Blueberry Cream Cheese Bars
Cake mix – Stick with either yellow cake mix or vanilla cake mix for the crust. Butter pecan cake mix is an excellent option too.
Butter – Softened butter here. You can use unsalted or salted.
Eggs – Make sure you start with room temperature eggs.
Blueberry pie filling – You can substitute with any pie filling you like if you want to change it up.
Cream cheese – Use full fat cream cheese for the best flavour. Substitute with light cream cheese for a lighter dessert. Be sure to start with softened, room temperature cream cheese so it is easier to work with.
Sugar – Just plain granulated white sugar.
Vanilla extract – Pure vanilla extract is best, clear vanilla is great too as you will get a whiter looking glaze.
