Ingredients & Substitutions
Butter: Adds richness and flavour. You can use olive oil for a lighter option – just add an extra pinch of salt.
Garlic: Use fresh garlic for best results You can substitute with 1 to 1.5 teaspoons garlic powder (adjust to taste), or roasted garlic for a milder, sweeter taste.
Lemon Juice: Adds brightness and acidity to balance the richness. Substitute with lime juice for a tangier twist. You can use bottled lemon juice instead in a pinch.
Black Pepper: You can use white pepper for a milder heat or chili flakes for extra spice.
Salt: Enhances all the other flavours.
Paprika: Provides subtle sweetness and a hint of smoky flavour. Substitute with smoked paprika for deeper flavour or cayenne for added heat.
