Tips for Making the BEST Christmas Charcuterie Board

  • Prepare some of the ingredients in advance, such as washing vegetables and fresh fruit, as well as cutting any hard cheeses.
  • Don’t stress out about buying the exact ingredients shown in this guide. Plan out some of your favourites.
  • Use a layer of parchment paper to make cleaning up a breeze and to help protect wooden board from stains. Alternatively just use a large rectangular platter.
  • Charcuterie boards are best served at room temperature.
  • Plan for about 2 ounces of meat and cheese per person, as well as about a cup of fruits, vegetables, and nuts per person.
  • If you are serving as a main course you will want about twice as much per person.
  • Use a mixture of delicious cheeses including hard cheeses and soft cheeses like mozzarella balls.
  • Fresh herbs like sprigs of rosemary are a nice festive touch and perfect for filling in any holes.
  • For a gorgeous charcuterie board, it is really important to make it look full so filling in the holes is really important.
  • We made salami roses for this festive board but other round deli meats work too!
